Transparent network monitoring
Network map makes it possible to perform very evident monitoring. Map shows the device state, status, response times, severity level. Map tabs and system tray display the general level of event severity. Monitoring becomes even more transparent with logs, reports, charts and notifications. Thus you will be able to react in timely manner and make well-thought and timely decisions.
Multiple scanning methods
Algorius Net Viewer supports various network protocols to enable network device monitoring: ICMP, UDP, TCP, SNMP, WMI, ARP, DNS, NETBIOS, HTTP(s), FTP(s). It enables various approaches to scan the devices and measure various parameters like response speed, CPU temperature, free disk space. Altogether it makes it possible to check any details of how service, server, PC, other network device works.
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is used to manage devices in IP networks. SNMP-enabled devices include routers, switchboards, servers, workstations, printers etc. Algorius Net Viewer supports SNMP versions 1, 2, 3. Both authorization and data encryption are supported for SNMP v.3. You can use MD5, SHA1 for authorization. For data encryption — DES, AES-128, AES-192, AES-256, Triple DES.
WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) scanning method enables monitoring of various conditions: state of hard disks and network interfaces, launched processes etc. WMI Query Language (WQL) language is used to access WMI. WQL scripts are generated automatically using the embedded WMI browser.
External scanning methods
You can scan devices with Algorius Net Viewer using external utilities. Result is defined based on returned code or console text. It significantly enlarges application functionality since you can use external applications with network scanning functionality in Algorius Net Viewer.
All scanning methods (SNMP, PING, WMI etc.) are implemented as plugins. Thus external developers can create additional plugins, enhance application functionality, adapt it for specific needs.
Integrated SQLite database is used for logging by default. With this database you can easily start using the application. You can also use external databases like Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL and others. These databases support greater scalability and advanced administrative tools.
