Configuring Action

Configuring Action

To configure a notification action, it is required to specify the following parameters:

  • Name — the action name.
  • E-Mail Server — (only for the action Send e-mail) — an email account that will be used to send email notifications.
  • Recipients — (only for the action Send e-mail) — a recipient(s) email addresses. It is also possible to add several email addresses separated by semicolons or commas.
  • Subject — (only for the action Send e-mail) — an email subject. Macros are also allowed for this parameter (see the macros list below).
  • Message — a message text. Macros are also allowed for this parameter (see the macros list below).
  • Attach Network Map Image — (only for the action Send e-mail) — if checked, the PNG network map image will be attached to email.
  • Sound file — (only for the action Play sound file)— a sound file path.
  • File — (only for the action Execute external command) — an executable file path.
  • Arguments — (only for the action Execute external command) — an executable file attributes. Macros (see the macros list below) and environment variables are also allowed for this parameter.
  • Modem Port — (only for the action Send SMS)— the name of the modem COM port. To find the assigned COM port, open Windows Device Manager. Go to Modem tab in modem settings and find the assigned COM-port there. You can also find Diagnostics tab in modem settings – we highly recommend to run modem diagnostics before using it with Algorius Net Viewer. In some cases, it helps to detect and prevent possible issues.
  • User — (only for the action Send Skype message) — the name of Skype user you want to notify. Skype must be running during this operation. You should confirm the ability to use it after first launch. Open Skype and select “Accept”.
  • Phone number — (only for the following actions: Send SMS, Send Skype message) — phone number to send a message.
  • Receiver — (only for action Send Telegram message) — the type of the message receiver: a Telegram contact or a Telegram group.
  • Contact — (only for action Send Telegram message) — the name of the message receiver. All your Telegram contacts are available. This item is available only if Contact is selected as a receiver.
  • Group — (only for action Send Telegram message) — the name of the group messages will be sent to. All groups from your Telegram are available. This item is available only if Group is selected as a receiver.
  • Mode — (only for the action Send SMS) — format to send SMS: PDU or text. PDU mode is recommended as it is newer and has its advantages over text, e.g. Unicode support. Text format is recommended only if modem or provider doesn’t support PDU.
  • SC No — (only for the action Send SMS) — SMS Service Center number. The number can be obtained from your network operator. Use only if the modem can not send SMS without this number. In most cases the number is initially specified on the SIM card. In most cases, a modem or phone are able to substitute it automatically when sending SMS. In rare cases, the number must be specified explicitly.
  • Transliteration — (only for the action Send SMS) — when enabled, symbols of the national alphabet will be substituted by their English analogs. It solves encoding problem on some devices and increases the maximum message size of national SMS from 70 to 140 chars due to message transfer in ASCI encoding, not in UCS2.
  • Number of attempts — (only for the action Send SMS) — number of SMS sending attempts. Sometimes it is not possible to send SMS from a first try, e.g. in case of limited bandwidth or when provider has Flood-control implemented. In such cases messages will be sent repeatedly until successful attempt, but not more than specified number of times.
  • Pause between attempts — (only for the action Send SMS) — interval between SMS sending attempts.
  • Hide after — (only for the action Screen message) — closure time from event occurrence and from event resolution. E.g. you can automatically close message one minute after server returning to usual operation mode.
  • Activation — (only for the action Send Telegram action) — activate Telegram client. Activation is needed to send Telegram message. It is required to enter your phone number in Phone number field and click Get code. Activation code will be sent to the specified phone number (in SMS or Viber message). Enter the received code in the Code field and click OK to complete activation. Telegram client will be activated.
  • URI — (only for the action Execute Web request) — URI to run the Web query. You can use macro to populate the parameters.
  • Method — (only for the action Execute Web request) — method to run a query (GET or POST) according to HTTP specification.
  • POST data — (only for the action Execute Web request) — data to send when running Web query with POST method. You can use macro to populate the parameters.
  • Authorization — (only for the action Execute Web request) — authorization method for a Web query according to HTTP specification.
  • Username/password/domain — (only for the action Execute Web request) — authorization data for a Web query according to HTTP specification.
  • Report — (only for the action Save report) — report to be exported. Please see Reports for more details.
  • Format — (only for the action Save report) — file format to save a report.
  • File — (only for the action Save report) — file of a report. You can use %MAP% macros to populate map name and macro to fetch the current date and time: %yyyy%, %MM%, %dd%, %HH%, %mm%, %ss%. Macro can be included into file name and file path. You can use it to group exported reports in the folders by date and by map name. The following macros are allowed for text messages. All macros will be substituted with their corresponding values when executed.
